Green House Cottages of Carmel is located in the heart of Carmel, Indiana. We are a skilled nursing facility. Unlike other skilled nursing facilities, the cottages are designed to have a real home atmosphere that allows Elders to thrive.
That makes us a skilled nursing community
Green House Cottages of Carmel consists of six cottages each with 12 private suites. The cottages include a family-style hearth room, open kitchen, and dining areas. When you step inside one of our cottages, it will feel like home not a traditional skilled nursing community. With high-vaulted ceilings, natural light, and other great features, we’re able to provide a more comfortable, Carmel skilled nursing community for Elders to receive the care they need to live as independently as possible.
As Indiana’s first cottage-style, skilled nursing home, Green House Cottages of Carmel offers a new kind of skilled nursing community. Each cottage is staffed with a small, self-managed team of Certified Nursing Assistants who provide around-the-clock personal care. A clinical team of nurses is also available 24/7. We also provide social workers, therapists, physicians, activity coordinators, and dietary professionals on an as-needed basis. Unlike any other Carmel nursing home, we don’t have a predetermined routine for Elders. Instead, our skilled nursing community focuses on providing them with the ability and opportunity to pursue their interests. In fact, Elders have unrestricted access within the cottages because someone is always there to support them, even if they want to eat at three in the morning.
Aneish has been with Green House Cottages of Carmel since February of 2017. He graduated from Indiana University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration. Since then he gained years of long-term care experience working as both a Memory Care Program Facilitator and Director of Social Services. He was previously Green House Cottages’ Director of Social Services and completed his Administrator-in-Training Program here at Green House as well.
Aneish was incredibly close to his grandparents, growing up in England and from a young age developed a natural affinity toward the elderly. It is his passion to serve, lead and promote a beautiful, person-centered care model in that of the Green House Project.
In his spare time, Aneish likes to travel and spend time with family and friends. He is an avid concert goer and thoroughly enjoys listening to 1960’s and 1970’s live Grateful Dead records. He is also a lifelong supporter of Manchester United Football Club.
Director of Nursing
Tuawonna “Tee” Kinyahwe is our Director of Nursing at Green House Cottages of Carmel. After 15 years at AT&T in corporate America, she felt a calling to follow her heart and switched to nursing. During her studies, she gravitated toward the specialty of Geriatrics. Having taken care of her grandparents as a child, she already had experience giving specialized care to the geriatric population. Tee’s passion for our Elders is to live with the dignity and honor they deserve― to be seen and treated as the most important part of any staff member’s time on campus.
Tee loves being a mom. She is a widow and has the pleasure of having a legacy of five kids and five grandchildren. She lives with graduates from both Purdue and IU. Needless to say, family gatherings can be spirited. She loves to read, all things involving The Rat Pack, travel, and DIY projects.
“I love the Green House Cottages of Carmel concept and I am honored to be the Director of Nursing.”
Director of Rehabilitation
Jill Burgett McLinn is our Therapy Program Manager with Select Rehabilitation at the Cottages. She has over 25 years of experience practicing Speech-Language Pathology in Hartford, CT, Chicago, IL, and now back to her home state of Indiana! She earned her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and is certified in VitalStim for dysphagia.
Jill’s passion for our elders is for them to live to their fullest potential. This may take the form of rehabilitation to home or rehab in our long term care cottages. To enable their independence, they’ll receive physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or speech therapy.
When Jill is not working with the therapy team alongside nursing, the dietician, activities, and the physician, you will find her planning her next trip to visit one of her three children. They live in Washington D.C, Kansas City, and Gainesville, Florida! When not traveling with her husband, Jill enjoys walking their dogs, going to concerts, and vacationing in warm weather!
I entered the Healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1998. When I followed my family to Indianapolis, I went into Medical billing with Durable Medical equipment and remained in that industry for several years. I have always loved working the Geriatric community and decided to return to Skilled Nursing facility setting in 2004 in the Business office. I started as an assistant; became a Medicaid specialist; and got promoted to Business Office Manager. My goal as a Business office manager is to provide the best Customer Service as possible.
I am currently finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare administration and hope to complete my Administrator in Training program at Green House Cottages of Carmel. My goal is to make a great impact on all of our elders and families’ lives.
